The Queer Doula
“I am a person who looks to nourish you with connection. To connect you to the wisdom of your own inner knowing. I know that those who birth are capable of more than we have ever dreamed. When we show ourselves our limitless power, the world is shattered and reassembled without limitation.”

Who is The Queer Doula?
Hi welcome,
My name is Tasara - Ta-sa- ra and I’m the Queer doula.
I am a human dedicated to compassionately dissolving the restrictive narratives and boxes we've be told to conform too. I live joyfully as a trans non-binary human encouraging and supporting both myself as well as everyone else to be true to their full spectrum humanity. With over 10 years of experience working intimately with families, serving as a doula, early childhood educator, and caregiver, I believe wholeheartedly that supported parenthood changes the world. I possess a fervent passion for a safe and healthy global future, I wish to contribute to a cultural shift in our collective values, so that care, sustainability, and inclusivity are at the heart of our societal and cultural priorities.
I live beyond the gender binary, I am not a woman, my pronouns are they-them, I have a uterus, I have been pregnant twice, i’ve experienced two early births, I love my body, and a defy the outdated narrative that my anatomy defines my gender, I present more masculine and love being called a boy and occasionally referred to with he/him pronouns.
I believe whole heartedly in personal autonomy and authority, and I wish to offer care to humans that respects and honours them individually. When people are offered this, it is amazing to see how their experience becomes one of personal empowerment. When we are encouraged to maintain loving connection to our bodies and are able to make decisions that are right for ourselves, we can feel empowered to live fully in our humanity without sacrifice.
Inclusive language- You will notice I use inclusive language such as birthing person or parent. Language development helps to broaden cultural and societal acceptance and equality of all individuals that deserve to be seen, accepted, and cared for by our community.
It is not my intention for any woman to feel like this erases her identity. I have a profound respect for womanhood, the power of women’s capacities, the history women have endured, and I love working with women. I am fiercely passionate about non-binary, intersex and trans people’s rights of inclusivity, acceptance and validation in all spaces, and especially in reproductive care. It is central to my own experience as a trans non-binary, I know I and the rest of my community deserve to be validated. If you’re cis gendered and find this transition of language hard to understand, I wouldn’t expect it to be easy- without experiencing the pain of not being seen in your authentic identity by the world you live in, it would be hard to recognise the necessity of this shift. I am always happy to have loving, respectful conversations to answer any questions or address your concerns.
